For the 2017 Christmas shopping campaign, we took the little shepherds, Lluquet i Rovelló, out of the Christmas-decor trunk for a new episode of the "On visc, on compro" saga. These traditional Catalan Christmas characters appeared throughout the city of Rubí to promote the local shops while rhyming verses in genuine Folch-i-Torres style, the playwright who gave them life.
We really enjoyed the part of rescuing a very, very old, traditional and folklorist style, playing with the rhymes in verse typical of the classical theater updated in content for a modern, commercial message, in which we had to highlight the values of local shopping: its proximity, its personal experience, and its warmth and professionalism.
The actors who represent these two characters have, moreover, been playing the roles for more than 10 years in the local performance of the play “Els Pastorets”, meaning that they instantly created rapport with the hundreds of people from Rubí which had seen them performing at the theater. A closeness that was transferred directly to the campaign and propelled it to work very well indeed: it had thousands of views on the social networks.
